The RIBA Stirling Prize-nominated Storey’s Field Centre is a spectacular building in the new North West Cambridge Development, created to reflect the aspirations of the people it serves. Designed by MUMA, it is a community centre which possesses a globally respected concert hall alongside flexible spaces suitable for classes as diverse as modern jive, ceilidh, woodcraft, and jazzercise.
The centre’s squared circle identity responds to the architectural vernacular of the building, interacting energetically with imagery in application and providing a flexible and dynamic visual language capturing the spirit and diversity of the local community. The squared edge aesthetic is carried through in the judicious mixing of the light and square fonts of the Maax typeface, creating a playful point of interest tying together programmes, brochures, wayfinding and website.
