The UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre works with governments, NGOs and global businesses to provide information, advice and support in the formation of policies which affect the natural world. Its rebrand more closely aligns the Centre with UN Environment, emphasising the closeness and importance of the strategic relationship and delivering a functionally strong and distinct visual identity.
Collaborative workshops with the Centre’s stakeholder groups led the exploration and development of a brand essence. The concentration of its purpose, values and messaging, ‘Impact’ is the single core idea at the heart of the organisation expressing the active (rather than passive) nature of the Centre, how they judge their outputs by the real change they effect in the world and how they are guided by a purpose to create positive and sustainable impact for people and nature.
In a moment of inspiration, the formation of the Centre’s call to action ‘We Can Make Change’ repurposed the Centre’s own acronymic identity to deliver a powerful campaign asset with the potential to engage across OOH, social media and conferences.
